The shaders for various planets have not been written to properly render with the extended dynamic range, so their math is all wrong (leading to things like pink, pixelated skies instead of blue skies and white clouds). Until I finally conclude: No Man's Sky has terrible HDR code. It looks like it might be applying dithering noise to the whole image even though the output is 10 bit. The most promising result was when setting Windows to 8bit and non-HDR, and then letting the game enable Windows HDR output via the ingame switch. RwMa.
